Cosmetic Tattoo / Microblading

Lip pigmentation is the perfect way to transform and enhance thin or uneven lips, for lips that have lost shape and fullness with age, restoring volume and creating a perfect shape. Cosmetic lip colour is perfect if you have lost colour due to cold sores or age, maybe a scar or accident or it can also be used to correct imperfections.

Fine eyeliner is through the lashes and creates a fine line above the lashes. It extends beyond the eyelashes to create a precision fine line which might have a flick at the end or be straight into the lash line. Thick eyeliner is shaded through and goes beyond the eyelashes to create a wider contour with a dramatic flick .

Microblading Eyebrows 1:618
This cosmetic procedure is designed to cosmetically enhance the natural shape of the eyebrows using implantation of safe pigments into the skin, mimicking the eyebrows natural hair.
The natural curves and arches are hand crafted to individual perfection for each person. The treatment is semi-permanent lasting up to two years depending on the skin type

At the first session, the eyebrow shape is measured according to the client’s facial features, such as the eyes and nose in order to achieve the most suitable natural eyebrow shape (The Golden Ratio – 1:618) and pigment colour depending on the colour of the client’s eyebrow hair. Once the client is satisfied with the newly drawn shape, the procedure will begin.

Please allow 3 hrs for this session.

A complimentary touch-up is scheduled at four to six weeks after the first session.
During the touch-up, the eyebrow is re-measured and analysed to check whether more strokes need to be added.
Please keep in mind this is a two part procedure, therefore a touch-up is essential for every client to see the final result after healing.

Post Care : 30 mins to 1 hour after treatment, wash your eyebrows with luke warm waterto remove lymph.Pat dry with a cotton pad and apply after care gel with a cotton tip.
24 hrs after treatment gently wash the aftercare gel off with lukewarm water.

Cosmetic Tattoo creations for eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, full lip and beauty spots are also referred to as Micro Pigmentation and Colour or Pigment implants, Derma graphics or Permanent Makeup.

These treatments are not new! In fact, they have been performed for thousands of years, yet they have only been available to western society for approximately 19 years. Whilst many celebrities, such as Madonna and Elizabeth Taylor have benefited from these procedures please understand that this is about you and your needs.

Cosmetic Tattoo enhances your appearance through colour enhancement or rectification of imperfections.

Cosmetic Tattoo creations will save you time and frustration; you will look great twenty- four hours a day and it minimises the use of applied make-up. You can swim, sleep, play sport, visit the hair salon and your make-up will still be there.

The first step is to discuss your requirements with the Cosmetic Tattoo Practitioner. Matters discussed will include colour, shape, final results, expectations, the procedure, process and cost.

It is important to note that the procedure is conducted over more than one visit. In general a minimum of two visits is required and sometimes even three visits, depending on the desired final result.

Post Procedure Care and Maintenance

Your maintenance requirements will be discussed following the first procedure.

As this is a treatment designed for cosmetic enhancement, it is our aim to refine or define any of the facial features you feel you would like enhanced. Whilst this procedure is often called permanent makeup it must be understood that what can be done with makeup and a brush does not always translate into this procedure.

For your personal hygiene, all consumables are disposable. All treatments are performed in very CLEAN conditions. The finest quality equipment is used and the needles are individually packed in sterile packets.

Each client has a new needle and new machine parts.

The Applicator works on the principle of a needle vibrating up and down and implanting colour into the skin.

These pigments are specifically pre-mixed for use on the face. Their intensity is much softer with the image of makeup in mind as opposed to normal body pigments, which are specifically created to design those magnificent pictures full of bright, rich, intense colours not suitable for the face.

The pigments used contain Iron Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, which are safe non-reactive substances. The pigment lotions are specifically manufactured for implantation into human skin. Most of the pigments lotions are inorganic, excluding some of the lip colours, which can contain organic pigment. A powder is suspended in a solution of distilled water, alcohol and glycerine, which results in a smooth, fine, creamy liquid. The pigments are mixed to create hundreds of colours.

Quite simply, YES! The difference can be in the machine. The traditional tattoo artist uses a coil machine and power box, which is specifically manufactured to power through the thicker layers of the skin on the body.

A Cosmetic Practitioner uses a Rotary Pen Style Machine, which has less power, is quieter, lighter and easier to handle, but most importantly, has completely disposable parts.

Always choose a Cosmetic Practitioner to work on your face. Whilst traditional body tattooists are magnificent artists, they are not trained in the structures of the face, the skin colourations and texture or the delicate needs learned as a professional make-up artist.

The final result is that of a softly applied muted pencil although the colour immediately after the treatment will look stronger, brighter and possibly darker than your desired colour.

In most cases you will lose approximately 30-60 % of the intensity of the colour during the healing process. This is between 14 — 28 days. Lip colours may lose up to 70% of colour. All this is relevant to the colour used, skin type,
if you have followed your Home Care Instructions and the final desired result. Colour retention is individual, and it is best to wait six weeks to see the final colour result.

Every one has a different tolerance to pains some feel it more than others. If you feel, you may wish to take your usual pain control tablets prior to your treatment. For your lip treatment, it is possible to arrange a dentist to give you a dental block, this is advisable, however we do have Topical Pain Relievers, which are quiet effective.

Whilst every endeavour is undertaken to match your requested colour, it is important to note that at times this can prove difficult. Many things alter the final outcome of the pigment colour in the skin. Acids and oils in your own skin and neglecting to follow the Home Care Instructions can also affect the final result.

Black Pigments

If the client requests black pigments for treatment of eyebrows and eyeliners, the outcome can result in a blue/black effect as seen in traditional tattoo.

Additionally, it can be known to ‘smudge’. This is caused by pigment travelling past the point of placement and is the reaction of some skin types and not the Practitioners procedure.

Migration, as it is known, has been known to happen during the treatment, or days after. All care is taken to prevent this, however migration is not pre-determinable.

This cannot be determined prior to your procedure.

The permanency of the colour is determined by many contributing factors: the colour chosen; skin quality and tone; and desired outcome.

The pigment remains in the skin but, as with many other objects, exposure to the sun may fade the colour.

Most clients prefer to have a softer result initially and return every 12 – 15 months to maintain the colour.

Note: Colour refreshers do not incur the same financial investment as original treatments.

Everybody is meant to have eyebrows. Eyebrows frame the eyes. In fact, Australia’s pioneering Practitioner, Val Glover-Hovan believes: “…eyebrows are like bras – they should be the first thing you put on in the morning and you should never been seen with out them.”

People, who have over plucked the hairs from their eyebrows, have gaps or scars and the hair has not grown back, people suffering from Alopecia, loss of hair, people who have visual impairments, or simply people who are wanting a definite shape to their eyebrows.

Colour is implanted to your desired shape framing the eyes with a beautiful defined brow.

Colour can be implanted as a solid look or in hair strokes for a softer result.

People with very pale pink eyes, oily skin causing make up to smear, small eyes needing definition and shape, contact lens wearers, people with allergic reactions to conventional make- up, people with poor eyesight or just people who like to wear eye liner. Top and bottom eye-lids can be done, either in fine or wide lines, tapered or dotted between the lashes, giving the eyes beautiful definition, shadowing is also possible once eye-liner is in place, Green or Blue Colours in various shades will enhance the eye colour.

People who have no definite shape, pale lips, sun damaged lips, uneven lips or have lost the shape as a result of cold sores or injury. People who like a definite shape to emphasis or enlarge the mouth. It is ideal for ladies with ‘crease lines’ or ladies who have had their lips augmented. Colour implanted in a fine line on the outer edge of Lips, gives a lovely, defined shape to the mouth. Lips appear more sensuous.

Lip blending, is outlining the lip shape, then blending the colour from the lip line on to the lip, making the outline less obvious. This is applied in the same colour as the lip line to look natural. This is the best technique to fill in white areas of the lip line, where it has been extended past the natural lip line. A light to medium colour is best for this technique.

Ideal for everybody, especially those with very pale lip colour. Firstly, a lip outline is created in the colour of your choice then either the same colour or a lighter colour can then be used to colour the lip. The lips are highly coloured at first but during healing between 20 and 60% of colour will be lost, depending on colour, skin reaction and home care.

The lips are left tinted with an over all colour.

Full coloured lip colour eliminates the need to wear lipstick. The shape and colour will always stay even when eating or drinking. Just add Lip Gloss.

Upon completion of your treatment you will be provided with detailed Home Care Instructions.

Healing time is minimal for most treatments varying between 4 to 14 days depending on the treatment.

Mostly it is hardly noticeable and only a small percentage of people have some mild swelling, itchiness or tenderness, but in general all activities can be continued immediately.

You will be required to use the Beauty Effects soothing balm. The application of this cream will be explained upon completion of your procedure.

If you have a history of cold sores, fever or sun blisters, or any type of sore on the lip, you may have a reoccurrence of these after a lip treatment.

It is recommended that two weeks prior to any lip cosmetic tattoo procedure, you take a course of Blackmore’s L Lysine
tablets or ask your doctor for a prescription of Zovirax Tablets.

Where possible avoid chocolate, peanut butter, cocoa powder or oats, as these encourage the Herpes virus.

It must be understood that the use of any product containing Retin-A or A.H.A’s (alpha hydroxy acids) or any Glycolic acid or peels will fade the colour tattoo. Use of these products must cease at least one month prior to your treatment.

Sun Block is to be at all times, as exposure will fade colour.

  • Stop the need to replenish lipstick during the day.
